Pivot is a board game for 2–5 entrepreneurs set in the year 2075. Players build innovative startups that compete in 5 high-tech industries: Augments, Fusion, Quantum, Robots and Skycars. Your companies will vie for the attention and wallets of fickle customers across the globe, from the major continents to the leading cities around the Yellow Sea, Gulf of Mexico and Mediterranean. To succeed, you'll need to outmanoeuvre rivals and adapt swiftly to shifting market demand. Play revolves around a hand of Action cards that you play one at a time and get back at the end of the round. On your turn, you'll be able to produce goods, build shipping networks, hire a network of sales agents, sell products to meet demand, or invest your personal cash to increase your stake in promising ventures. A round continues until all players have passed, at which point the market refreshes, creating a dynamic puzzle where customer demand shifts and product prices are recalculated. The game ends after 3 rounds, or when enough companies have exited, at which point players add the value of their shares to their personal cash to determine the winner. The heart of Pivot lies in its player interaction, driven by shared ownership. Because multiple players can hold shares in the same company, you are always invested in your opponents' actions. This creates a constant tension over the battle to become a company's CEO by holding the most shares, which grants control of the powerful Deal card. As CEO, you can forge strategic Partnerships — letting both companies use each other's infrastructure — or trigger a tactical, player-driven Exit to the market for a significant bonus to all shareholders. Replayability is driven by four unique maps with special rules, randomised setup, and spicy Catalyst cards that can augment your standard actions or be played as rule-bending effects of their own.
